7th week

The module contains few sections that are divided into several chapters. Some of the sections are Web Searching, Downloading, Encoding, Burning, Compressing File and so forth. Each of these sections is divided into several chapters. For example, in Encoding, it has the module on how to convert from mp3 file to WAV file, from WAV file to mp3 file, how to search song from Jango.com, how to watch video from YouTube and many more. What we need to do was we supposed to make slide presentations on how each of these sections is carried out. We need to print screen the steps and paste them on he Microsoft PowerPoint. In addition, according to Puan Foziah, if we want to get extra marks we can do some extra works by making extra PowerPoint on other software or program that not included in the module.
These are some problems that my friends faced when doing the module:-1. The program is out of date
2. The software cannot be used or open or download
3. Some steps in the module is missing and readers cannot follow the program

6th week

Module 1 is basically focusing on computer and internet skills such as how to download song using 4shared and how to download YouTube videos using Moyea. After distributing the module and give a little bit explanation, Puan Foziah asked us to start work on the module. In my opinion, this module is quite good for all of us especially the beginners as we manage to know new software to download songs, videos and do other things related to internet skills. So it is useful for this era.

5th week

E-Booking

I learnt that it's very important to not put snake's pictures anywhere that can be accessed by Pn. Foziah.

Then there's e-book. I'm not going to be academic here. E-book to me is Kindle, the one they sell on Amazon. A device that functions like a book, only that it is digital. So, bring the device anywhere and u can read any 'book' that u like, provided u download them. If u can stand the raging screen, the battery life or the shape of Kindle, good for you. For me, I feel, and will always feel that E-book will never replace a real book. It's just different with holding a real book in your hand. If not, book will not last for centuries, do they? The only advantage of E-book is that you can store books in one device and can access them anytime without filling up the spaces in your house. Other than that, the feelings are irreplaceable.

4th week

class had been canceled so cheers everyone!!!

3rd week

I chose installing peer to peer programmes which lets me ‘share’ files on the programme without other ‘peers’, such as Ares (no promotion intended). Until now, it has been pleasant without any crashes whatsoever except when I tried to download keygen files for ‘cracked’ softwares that I use. That, I blame on myself, though not entirely. Malaysians are still far away from buying authentic softwares coz they are just too expensive. Still, that is another story altogether. The positive part form the lesson was that it made me feel like I’m one of the IT guy on the Internet that teaches ‘noobs’ or newbies on how to solve their computer problems. Who knows I’ll open my troubleshoot webpages next time?
Just before the lesson start, we had been distributed a “Teaching English in the Primary School” book for each person. it is good for us as Puan Foziah herself recommended it.So, we had been divided into group of six and present our topic.
We had our topic. I read the topic twice, understand what all it about but I don’t know what actually we need to present.

2nd week

2nd Class
Today is the 2nd class for us in Resources' Course. Pn. Foziah gave a brief explanation about what type of task that we are require to do for this entire course. There are 5 module that she will be given to us. As I listen to her explanation, I realize that there are a lot of work to be done. Looking at the size of the portfolio that she' shown to us give me a big picture on how important it is for me to be prepare mentally and physically...hehe. Since the portfolio will be evaluate, I won't take thing for granted and will work hard in preparing it. Besides that, another thing about today's class is I identified one of the skill that I'm lacking in, that is 'typing'. Pn. Foziah told us to improve our 'typing' skill by practicing a lot of time. She even demonstrates to us the right body' posture when typing that is to sit straight. As the new beginner like me, it is difficult. But I'm sure, with her guide, I'll be able to master the high level of typing skill in the end of this course. Overall, today' class is interesting for me!

1st week

Hey guys..

We had our first resources class today. Frankly speaking, I did not know what to expect. Would our lecturer be fierce? Soft-spoken? shy? (hehe..) But I think Mdm Foziah was the one who was surprised. It seems we could be heard from the 5th floor :-S ("err, is that even possible? Maybe, considering that there were about 75 of us crowded in the small waiting area!")!
Soliloquy: Hmm.. she looks very fierce. Aiyo, please don't let her treat us
like kids. I have had enough of that at the other side.

My lecturer, Mdm Foziah, is a nice person (:-D). I could see that she was very open-minded and could put herself in our shoes so she understood what we liked and disliked. However, being the lot that we are, we didn't respond to her on certain occasions and this got her a little but overwhelmed. (Not to worry Mdm, it time you will see that we are actually the most boisterous lot you have seen).

For this first lesson, it was sort of an introductory lesson as Mdm Foziah did not want to bombard our brains with all sorts of stuff. She too was tired as she had just finished a project which she had been workin on for some time. She briefed us about what the course was going to be about and talked to us about how she wanted the class to be. Gentle but strict, that Mdm Foziah.

We were let off early but we had to get some things done:
1) To install Photoshop CS3 into out lappies
2) To get ourselves an 8gb pendrive to store all our documents
3) To create a blog where we could talk about our experiences in the course.

I'm glad that whatever doubts I had were vanquished (so to speak hehe..). This course would be one filled with fun and exploration. Even my lecturer was not the grumpy and fierce kind. I thought that this was just one of thosw courses that taught you how to MAKE or FIND resources for the classroom. I'm happy it's not!

Cheerios~
